We serve brownies on the river every day during the summer and
these are the best Alaskan brownies ever. Everyone always asks for the
recipe, so here it is. Remember to follow the directions exactly and you
will be delighted with the results.
Ingredients:
1 cup
butter 1 1/2 cups flour
4 oz
unsweetened chocolate 2 cups walnuts
(chopped)
3 cups
sugar
1/2 cup
semi-sweet chocolate chips
5 large
eggs
1/2 cup
milk chocolate chips
Makes
about 24 large brownies or 40 small
Preheat
oven to 350 degrees F
Melt the butter and unsweetened chocolate in a heavy pan over low heat. Or you
can melt on low in the microwave. If you use the microwave be sure that
the butter does not spill over the top of your container. Cool until warm to
touch.
In a large mixing bowl mix the eggs and the sugar on high for a
full 10 minutes. This is the secret of these scrumptious brownies so do
not try to save time by not following this step. Beat in the melted
chocolate butter mixture on low. Add flour and continue to mix until just
blended. Add remaining ingredients ~ chocolate chips & nuts and mix.
Pour into 9x13x2 buttered baking pan. Bake for 35 - 45
minutes until clean knife comes out clean when inserted in center. Cool
and cut into squares. Enjoy!
